Tips on How to Secure Computer in Simple Ways (4)

As we mentioned in previous articles, to keep your computer safe, you do not need to be a computer expert. We have shared several smart ways including “set Windows Security Center as a Starting Point on Your Computer”, “Take Windows Defender as a Diagnostic Tool on PC” and “Turn On Two-Way Firewall Protection”, “Deactivate the Startup Menu on Your Computer”, “Forbid Unwanted Guests to Your Computer”, and “Audit Attackers to Your PC”, “Use Your Internet Explorer Settings” and “Use OpenDNS”, today we will introduce another 2 simple ways to keep your computer secure and safe.

Live with User Account Control
The User Account Control (aka UAC) is considered as a area where people may want to see the Windows Security Center turn red. The User Account Control is specially designed to prevent rogue remote software from being installed automatically, and it also has a trend to thwart legitimate software installations by interrupting the process several times with useless messages.
The User Account Control is used to warn you of potential danger on your computer somehow. Therefore please take care to decide to disable the User Account Control. We recommend a fre utility named TweakUAC to turn UAC on or off as well as an intermediate “quite” mode to keep the User Account Control on but suppress administration elevation prompts. When the TweakUAC is in quite mode, the User Account Control will seem to be off to those running as administrator accounts, but the people with standard user accounts will still be prompted.
Check Your Work on PC
There is also another simple way to secure your computer. To keep tabs on your system’s security with the System Health Report, you can take input from the Performance and Reliability Monitor and turn it into an information-packed report that can display potential security problems.
How to:
  1. A. Go to Start and open Control Panel
  2. Click System item
  3. Click Performance near the bottom of the Tasks list
  4. Click Advanced tools near the top of the resulting Tasks list
  5. Press Generate a system health report which is the last item on the resulting list.
The System Health Report will tell you whether your antivirus protection is installed and declare whether the User Account Control is turned on by listing any missing drivers that may cause error codes. It is recommend to do this system health report monthly to make sure your computer is running good.
